Formula 1 could face another rain-affected weekend at the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, with an 80% chance of precipitation forecast for both Saturday and Sunday at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
After the heavy rain that hit Sepang on race day, Formula 1 now heads to Singapore for the final event of the triple-header. The Marina Bay weekend will also feature the Sprint format, adding another strategic and sporting challenge alongside the potentially difficult weather conditions.
Singapore GP weather forecast points to wet weekend
Thursday and Friday are currently expected to escape the worst of the weather, but the outlook changes significantly for the most important part of the weekend. The risk of rain rises to 80% on both Saturday and Sunday, creating the possibility of another unpredictable Formula 1 event following the downpour in Malaysia.
Wet conditions could prove especially significant at Marina Bay. As a street circuit, the Singapore venue already offers little margin for error, with the enclosed layout increasing the consequences of mistakes when grip levels become difficult to judge.
The weather therefore adds another variable to an already demanding Sprint weekend, where teams and drivers will have less conventional preparation time before the competitive sessions begin.
Sprint format adds to the challenge at Marina Bay
The possibility of rain could make the compressed Singapore programme even more complicated, with conditions potentially changing across the decisive Saturday and Sunday sessions.
