Follow Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix qualifying live with ScuderiaFans and stay up to date with every key moment from one of the most important sessions of the 2026 season.
The final practice session earlier today delivered a surprise result, with Kimi Antonelli topping the timesheets ahead of Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Now all eyes turn to qualifying, scheduled to begin at 16:00 local time, where pole position and the starting grid for Sunday’s race will be decided.
It is often said that FP3 in Monaco is far more than a simple practice session. Around the narrow streets of Monte Carlo, the final hour of running before qualifying is almost a dress rehearsal for the main event. While no championship points or grid positions are awarded, drivers gain something just as valuable: confidence.
With soft tyres, low fuel loads and barriers just centimetres away, every lap helps drivers build trust in their cars and push closer to the limit. That confidence can make all the difference when qualifying begins on one of the most demanding circuits in Formula 1.
Friday ended with smiles throughout the Ferrari garage and among the Tifosi after a strong showing from the SF-26. However, Saturday morning brought a change in momentum, with Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes making a significant step forward. The German team appeared to unlock more performance from its setup, immediately becoming a serious threat in the battle for pole position.
There was also drama towards the end of FP3 when Oliver Bearman crashed heavily into the barriers. The young Briton confirmed over team radio that he was uninjured, but the same could not be said for his Haas. The incident caused substantial damage and left the team’s mechanics facing a race against time to prepare the car for qualifying.
With Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull and potentially McLaren all in contention, the fight for pole position promises to be one of the highlights of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
