Andrea Kimi Antonelli will have his first opportunity to secure the Formula 1 world championship at the next round in Austin, Texas, in two weeks. The Mercedes driver secured an extremely valuable podium in Singapore, while George Russell finished only ninth, increasing the gap between the two teammates to 102 points.

Lewis Hamilton remains third with 229 points, eight ahead of Max Verstappen, while Charles Leclerc follows in fifth on 215. Ferrari therefore leaves Singapore with both of its drivers still closely involved in the fight immediately behind the championship-leading Mercedes pair.
