Mercedes passes 500 points as Ferrari falls 145 behind
Mercedes has now moved beyond 500 points and can begin counting down towards the championship as its advantage continues to grow. With 503 points, the championship leader is 145 clear of Ferrari, which remains on 358 after a damaging Spanish Grand Prix.
The size of the deficit means Ferrari’s hopes of overturning Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship have suffered another major blow. The Scuderia still holds second place, with McLaren 52 points further back on 306, but the fight at the very front has become increasingly one-sided in terms of the points gap.
Mercedes is therefore moving closer to the world titles, while Ferrari is effectively being forced to raise the white flag in the constructors’ fight now that the difference has grown to almost 150 points.
Racing Bulls and Alpine battle tightens again
Further down the standings, the fight between Racing Bulls and Alpine has become close once more. Racing Bulls occupies fifth place with 77 points, but Alpine has moved to within nine points on 68.
That keeps the contest immediately behind the leading four teams finely balanced, with both teams still separated by a relatively small margin as the championship heads into its remaining rounds.
Audi closes to within four points of Haas
Audi also added one point to its total in Madrid, further reducing the gap to Haas. Haas remains seventh with 21 points, while Audi has climbed to 17, leaving just four points between the two teams.
Williams follows with 11 points, while Aston Martin has three and Cadillac remains without a point. With the Spanish Grand Prix completed, the remaining races on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar will determine whether Mercedes can convert its commanding 145-point advantage into the Constructors’ Championship and how the increasingly close midfield battles develop.
