The 2024 Formula 1 championship is underway with the winter pre-season testing session taking place at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain, a first opportunity for teams to thoroughly evaluate the work done in the last few months. While Red Bull remains the favourite in the F1 betting for the upcoming championship, based on the initial data from testing, behind the Austrian side we can anticipate a close battle between Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren and even Racing Bulls, who seems to have made a significant step forward in terms of performance as a result of their link with Red Bull.
With just one week before the first race of the season, which will also take place at the Bahrain International Circuit, it’s a great time to check the betting odds for the upcoming Formula 1 campaign to make sure you take advantage of the wide selection of options. Ferrari showed some impressive speed over one lap in 2023, very often being considered the favourite for qualifying, but without the race pace necessary to challenge Red Bull on Sunday.
Looking ahead to the 2024 F1 championship, there will be many thrilling and entertaining races, but three events on the calendar stand out:
The Monaco Grand Prix
Formula 1 is also about opulence and glamour and no other race illustrates this concept better than the Monaco GP. The most famous celebrities in the world attend this special event and this year will not be different. Qualifying is very important at this venue, given the fact that the narrow streets of Monte Carlo don’t allow for many overtaking opportunities for the drivers, which means Monaco usually doesn’t treat us to the most exciting action in the race. However, the glamour and prestige of this exclusive event are unmatched, with any driver dreaming of taking the top spot in this historic and traditional Grand Prix. Monte Carlo has also been the venue of some of the craziest races there have ever been, with unexpected turn of events due to the specific layout. The circuit is incredibly tight and therefore leaves no room for mistakes, which also means that the talent and skills of a driver can make the difference much more than on other tracks where car performance decides the outcome of the race weekend.
The Italian Grand Prix
Monza is synonymous with Ferrari passion and the event has a special place in the history of Formula 1 and the Maranello team. Tens of thousands of Ferrari fans look forward to the moment they can show their love and support to the Prancing Horse at the ‘Temple of Speed’, hoping to celebrate a Ferrari win on a race track where speed is queen thanks to the unique layout of the Italian circuit, which makes it the fastest on the Formula 1 calendar. At the Monza race track we often see top speeds of over 350 km/h so it is no surprise that power unit performance is crucial for a good result in the Italian Grand Prix. Ferrari is confident in its overall SF-24 package for the upcoming season, making Monza an eagerly anticipated event for the Tifosi, who are ready to once again colour everything in red, hoping for a race win for Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz. For more than a century, Monza has been an essential round in the F1 championship and the 2024 Grand Prix is a must for all fans.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix
Last year marked the return of the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the Formula 1 calendar after four decades and as expected the event proved to be a huge success, both from a sporting and a financial point of view. Drivers had the opportunity to showcase their skills around the brand-new street track in Las Vegas, highlighting the most iconic buildings (such as Caesars Palace, the Mirage, Harrah’s, the Bellagio or the Venetian) and streets, including the well-known Strip. But the event proved to be not only about the spectacular sights and dazzling spectacle of Sin City, but also about pure racing. Las Vegas was able to deliver an amazing race and fans worldwide even voted the Grand Prix as the top race among all wins secured by Red Bull throughout the 2023 Formula One season. This is an extraordinary achievement for a debut street circuit in the center of Las Vegas, all remarkably put together by the organizers in just one and a half years.
The financial results were also outstanding: attracting over 300,000 attendees across four days, last year’s Las Vegas GP generated higher earnings than any other Formula 1 event in history, with a great economic benefit for the local region. It is no surprise that the plans for the upcoming race include even more attractions and special moments for fans, making the Las Vegas Grand Prix one of the most highly anticipated weekends on the F1 calendar for both the teams and fans.
With the start of the 2024 F1 season fast approaching, we can expect another year of exhilarating moments and thrilling wheel-to-wheel battles in motorsport’s most prestigious series.
