Pirelli has revealed the tire compound choices for the first three races of the 2024 season, which will take place in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Australia in the month of March.
Pirelli’s Choices
For the season opener, the tire manufacturer has decided to go with the three hardest compounds, namely C1 (hard), C2 (medium), and C3 (soft).
The selection by the Italian tire supplier seems quite sensible when considering the characteristics of the Sakhir circuit, which has consistently posed challenges to the tires, especially those on the rear axle.
As for the Jeddah circuit in Saudi Arabia, Pirelli will provide the teams with the three “intermediate” compounds, namely C2 (hard), C3 (medium), and C4 (soft).
Finally, on the Albert Park track in Melbourne during the Australian Grand Prix, the supplied tires will be the softest in the lineup (C3 hard, C4 medium, and C5 soft).

This means that in the first three outings of 2024, we will witness all five compounds produced by the Italian manufacturer in action, just as it will happen in the pre-season testing session, which is scheduled to take place at the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain from February 21 to 23.
