Silverstone organizers have confirmed the temporarily suspension of ticket sales for the 2023 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, after may complaints from fans who encountered difficulties in purchasing them, as the Silverstone ticketing provider suffered from “intermittent issues” caused by the high demand.
The circuit started the ticket sale for next season’s British Grand Prix yesterday morning, but many who attempted to buy them kept running into error pages and were unable to complete their purchase.
A spokesperson for the circuit announced that over 200,000 fans registered for the sale, with 25,000 fans waiting in the queue.
A statement read: “We’ve decided to suspend the 2023 Formula 1 British Grand Prix ticket sale, as we’re acutely aware a lot of fans have experienced intermittent issues in securing their tickets. Due to ongoing issues with our ticketing provider, Secutix, we feel the fairest thing for us to do, is to temporarily pause sales and freeze all ticket prices until these are resolved.”

Many fans complained of queuing online for five or six hours before their payments were not processed correctly, which forced them to start the process all over again. One outraged user posted on Twitter: “You need to freeze ticket prices full stop. What you’ve done today is obscene. I won’t be attending another event at Silverstone.”
This year’s race at the Silverstone circuit broke attendance records, with 401,000 people attending over the event during the three days of action.
