The Formula One World Championship season is fully underway, with twenty-one confirmed events on the 2018 calendar, including the Monaco Grand Prix next-up from May 24-27. The Grand Prix in Monaco, hosted at the Monte Carlo Circuit, is much more than a race, it’s the celebration of a new season and an opportunity for every driver to showcase their cars and skills. Last year’s Monaco GP winner was Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel, who took control in lap 34, with team-mate Kimi Raikkonen finishing second and Daniel Ricciardo grabbing third. The race saw five drivers forced to retire, including two who suffered a collision in the later laps.
2018 Monaco Grand Prix weather forecast:
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, although in Monaco perhaps not as often as other places. Conditions appear near-on perfect this year as well, ahead of the 2018 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix weekend. A lovely high of 25 degrees C is forecast, with only a very mild easterly wind of 7 mph, while the rainfall radar for Europe shows some cloud scatter nearby, although the risk of rain is very low for Saturday and Sunday.
During practice and qualifying, track temperatures will be warm and the extra grip afforded to drivers should keep things interesting during race time.
