The Mexican Grand Prix can stake a claim to be one of the loudest and quite possibly the best on the F1 calendar. Returning to F1 in 2015 after a 23-year hiatus, the size of the crowd and the atmosphere generated within the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez over the past two years has made everyone in the pitlane question why the race had ever gone away.
The superbly remodelled Autódromo Hermano Rodríguez hosts the third-from-last grand prix of the 2018 Formula One season in what’s likely to be a cauldron-like atmosphere at the track’s stadium section in motorsports-mad Mexico City.
2018 Mexican Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Info Mexico City):
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, especially given the fact that Mexico could prove to be another unpredictable weekend. Conditions appear uncertain ahead of the 2018 Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix weekend. The temperature for race day is expected to be around 20-21 degrees Celsius and there is a strong chance of rain on Friday and Saturday, which means that both the free practice sessions and the qualifying session could take place in wet conditions. Not positive prospects for Scuderia Ferrari, as the Maranello team will hope for dry conditions in order to be able to test the new parts which the Italian side also wanted to test at Austin, but was not able to due to the wet conditions for the first two practice sessions.
