Imola closed its doors with Formula 1 for the 2022 season: the second day of testing with the Pirelli prototype tires that the Italian company brought to start the development of tires for 2023 ended at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari today.
Three teams were on track today, with Scuderia Ferrari taking over from Alpine which completed its program yesterday with Esteban Ocon. The Maranello team started the day with Charles Leclerc: the Monegasque completed 63 laps before the lunch break when the F1-75 was prepared for his teammate Carlos Sainz, who took the place of the world championship leader.
In the end, the Scuderia completed the day with 53 laps by the Spaniard which in total (114 laps) are equivalent of just under two GPs.
On the Alfa Romeo C42 we saw test driver Robert Kubica in action who took over from Chinese driver Guanyu Zhou in action yesterday: the Polish driver put together 81 laps in the morning to which another 19 were added in the afternoon for a total of 100 laps. Yuki Tsunoda was behind the wheel of the AlphaTauri AT03 today and replaced of Pierre Gasly who took part in the Pirelli testing session yesterday. The Japanese divided the distances almost equally: 50 laps in the morning and 53 in the afternoon for a total of 103 laps.

The beautiful day prompted many fans to follow the tests at the points where the track was visible, as the facility was closed for exclusive reservations by Pirelli. The bravest fans even climbed over the fences and took their places on the stands.
