Work in Formula 1: new opportunities for IT, technical and commercial professionals. Work in Formula 1: exciting roles for engineers, IT specialists and commercial experts.

McLaren MCL39, 2025 F1 race start

Formula One Management is seeking new professionals to expand its technical and commercial teams, offering the chance to join the very operational heart of the world’s most followed and innovative sport. The open positions span technological, infrastructure and strategic spheres at the highest levels.

The sought profiles share advanced skills, team spirit and the ability to operate in high‐pressure international contexts. From digital infrastructure to data management and media rights, every role represents an essential occasion to work in a setting increasingly recognized globally for innovation, precision, and technology.

The open roles

Formula One Management is the company that manages the entire commercial, technical, and media ecosystem of the Formula 1 World Championship. Based in the United Kingdom, it coordinates every aspect of Grand Prix organisation: from television rights to logistics, from official timing to broadcast technologies, and relations with teams and circuits. Part of the Liberty Media group, the company is the strategic and operational engine of the Circus. These are the open roles.

Senior Track Systems Technician

Formula One is offering a rare opportunity to step into the technological centre of the Circus with the position of Senior Track Systems Technician, a key figure who manages trackside timing and communication systems during Grand Prix events.

The role includes installing and maintaining track sensors – such as timing loops, beacons and temperature detectors – as well as laying and testing data cables and verifying communication flows through dedicated F1 software. Excellent ability to read technical drawings, familiarity with hand tools, and knowledge of TCP/IP networks and electrical systems are required.

Ideal candidates hold a diploma or HND (Higher National Diploma) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, fault diagnosis skills for complex systems, and an inclination for teamwork even under difficult environmental conditions. A good command of technical English and availability to travel frequently are also part of the profile.

This position is part of the Technical Division of Formula One Management, with operational base in the United Kingdom and itinerant activity at circuits around the world.

Security Engineer

Formula One is looking for a Security Engineer to join its Technical Division, tasked with managing and developing cybersecurity technologies within the championship’s cloud infrastructure.

In collaboration with the Cyber Security Manager, the role will cover vulnerability management, implementation of security tools, verification of compliance with ISO 27001 and CIS standards, and integration of DevSecOps practices into CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities also include checks on Kubernetes, containers, Identity & Access Management (IAM) and web applications.

Proven experience with AWS Security Services (CloudTrail, WAF, IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub), knowledge of Terraform, and foundational principles of cloud security are required. Additional skills in Azure, identity platforms (Okta, Entra ID), and ability to function in dynamic teams under pressure complete the profile.

This position is based in the United Kingdom, with possibilities for direct collaboration with Formula One Management’s infrastructure and digital departments.

F1 TV Manager

Formula One seeks an F1 TV Manager to join the Media Rights team to support the strategic and commercial growth of the championship’s official streaming platform.

The role involves developing business cases for market initiatives and pricing, managing distribution partnerships in B2B contexts, and coordinating wholesale and syndication agreements with broadcasters and app stores. Among the main tasks are maintaining the rights matrix for each market, handling contract administration, and maintaining direct contact with F1 TV distributors.

Applicants must have at least two years of experience in strategic or commercial roles, strong negotiation and analytical skills, attention to detail, and a powerful orientation to problem solving. Good communication skills and willingness to work in international settings are also expected.

This position, based in the Commercial Division of Formula One Management (Biggin Hill, United Kingdom), offers exclusive benefits such as paddock access, dedicated training, and numerous corporate perks.

Fibre Operations Engineer

Formula One is recruiting a Fibre Operations Engineer to join the Technical Division at the Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill (United Kingdom). This person will be responsible for managing and maintaining the fibre‐optic infrastructure used at events for the World Championship.

The role involves testing, terminating and repairing single-mode fibres, OTDR analysis, quality control, fault management, and supporting installation and maintenance phases at trackside. Also included are logistical planning of cabling for Grands Prix and supervising equipment and junior technicians.

Required experience in fibre optic technologies, knowledge of measurement tools (OTDR, ILM, OPM), ability to read technical diagrams and manage inventory. Familiarity with SMPTE cable, AutoCAD, and environments such as broadcasting or ticketing systems like Jira is considered a plus.

The position offers exclusive benefits, continuous professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to the technical backbone of Formula 1, working closely with the teams that ensure global broadcast of every Grand Prix.
