The formation of what will become the eleventh team on the F1 grid continues to take shape. Following the announcement of its entry into the sport and the appointment of a Team Principal, Cadillac confirmed that Ferrari will supply the engines for the cars debuting in the 2026 Formula 1 championship.
The American team thus joins Haas on the list of Ferrari’s customer teams, further confirming the quality of the work done in Maranello. After a challenging 2020 marked by the infamous secret agreement with the FIA, Ferrari’s power units have gradually returned to being on par with those of its rivals.
Even in the recently concluded season, the SF-24 was able to fight for the championship until the end, powered by a highly competitive engine that enabled victories on tracks like Monza.
Cadillac explains its decision
Why did General Motors specifically choose Ferrari’s power units? “Choosing the right engine supplier is crucial, and we trust the passion, excellence, and incredible expertise of those working at Ferrari,” Cadillac stated in its announcement.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Ferrari as a supplier of power units and gearboxes. This is a partnership between two great brands,” added Graeme Lowdon, Team Principal of the American team.
