Shortly after the end of the qualifying session for the 2023 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, Sky Sport Italy commentator Carlo Vanzini stated that Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc was heading towards the medical center. The news alarmed many fans on social media as the driver had not been involved in any accident, leading to fears of something serious. However, the reason is nothing alarming: the Monegasque driver was summoned for a routine anti-doping check. This is a standard procedure where a random selection is made for testing, and today it was the turn of the Ferrari driver.
In short, it wasn’t the best day for Charles Leclerc: after finishing 19th in qualifying and being called to the weigh-in at the wrong time, he also had to undergo an anti-doping test. Let’s hope things will go better for Charles tomorrow in the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya.
