During Tuesday testing in Abu Dhabi, Alexandra Saint-Mleux, Charles Leclerc’s partner, posted a photo on her social media that was later deleted: the possible backstory.
On the morning of Tuesday, December 9, during the final test sessions of the season in Abu Dhabi, a very romantic photo appeared on Alexandra Saint-Mleux’s profile, the future wife of Charles Leclerc. The photo, however, disappeared from the Instagram page of the Mexican model after just a few minutes. But why delete such a sweet photo that would have thrilled the couple’s fans?
The shot shows Alexandra on one of the corners of the Abu Dhabi circuit during the test session. On the track at that very moment was her partner driving his Ferrari number 16. The image is very tender and represents all the support Alexandra gives to her Monegasque boyfriend.

Nevertheless, the Instagram story was promptly deleted after a few minutes. The reason could be quite simple. The model had entered the track wearing one of the vests usually reserved for photographers. These vests have identification numbers to allow authorized media operators to be recognized while moving through the service roads.
The vest Alexandra wore actually had her own identification number, which can only be worn by the person to whom it is assigned. These vests are reserved only for holders of a media pass, which are very different from paddock passes (those reserved for team guests, including drivers’ girlfriends).
In short, it is not unlikely that the model was forced to delete the photo showing her with a vest to avoid unnecessary media repercussions. The FIA, in fact, has very strict rules regarding track access. Allowing people who are not part of the operational team onto the track is extremely dangerous.
So the decision to delete the photo could have been driven by these small details to avoid unnecessary controversy, or simply to keep a very intimate shot private.
Safe to say the couple’s army of fans would have melted at the picture – but sometimes even the sweetest gestures have to stay off the grid.
