Let’s take a look at the weather forecast for the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix (latest weather forecast for Sao Paulo):
Justa few days until the track action begins at Interlagos and as usual one of the key aspects ahead of any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend is of course represented by the weather forecast, which can have a huge impact on the outcome of the race on Sunday. From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions may lead to very different races, and Formula 1 teams are always focused on this aspect in order to evaluate and choose their strategy options accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet or mixed conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability issues at high speeds.
This means that we should always keep on eye out on the weather before any Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend given the fact that it can often throw a curve ball into the mix. Especially taking into consideration the fact that Sao Paulo is never a straightforward weekend, as the weather can quickly change and affect the outcome of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.
As usual in Brazil, conditions seem to be uncertain for the entire race weekend in Sao Paulo, which will take place based on the Sprint format: a strong afternoon thunderstorm is expected for Friday at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, with temperatures of about 25-26°. The qualifying session, scheduled to take place on Friday evening, could therefor be affected by wet conditions, just as the second free practice session and the Sprint race event on Saturday afternoon, as the latest weather forecast show a 75 percent chance of rain.
Considerable cloudiness/overcast is expected also for Sunday, but the 2022 Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix could in fact take place in dry conditions after the rainy first two days in Sao Paulo, with a chance of rain estimated at only 25% during race days and most likely after the end of the event, the penultimate round of the 2022 Formula 1 championship.
