Monza was the world’s third purpose-built race track, following Brooklands and Indianapolis, built in 1922 and hosting its first Italian Grand Prix the same year. Formula One’s fastest-ever lap was set here in 2004, no surprise considering drivers spend roughly 80% of the lap at full throttle. As fast as its Italian Ferrari fans are passionate, the Italian Grand Prix is a highlight of the 2021 calendar.
2021 Italian Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Info Spa Monza):
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, although this time Monza will most likely be a straightforward weekend
Conditions appear excellent ahead of the 2021 Italian Grand Prix weekend: the free practice session and the qualifying session on Friday will definitely take place in dry conditions, just like the Sprint race on Saturday and the main even on Sunday afternoon at Monza, in very warm conditions: about 29-30 degrees are expected for Saturday and Sunday, which could create some issues for teams regarding the tyre management as compared to data gathered from Friday testing.
