The Hungarian Grand Prix was first held in 1986. A circuit that rewards those with a strong set-up and plenty of downforce, as opposed to engine power. Overtaking is at a premium, making strategy and qualifying the key to success, which means that the weather can also play an important role given the notorious difficult overtaking at this track.

From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, although this time Budapest will most likely be a straightforward weekend, at least for Friday and Saturday. Conditions appear excellent ahead of the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend: the free practice sessions and the qualifying session will definitely take place in dry conditions and in very warm: however, the temperature for race day is expected to drop by 5-6 degrees, which should create some issues for teams regarding the tyre management as compared to data gathered from Friday testing. For Sunday mostly cloudy conditions are expected but the chances of rain are low for the afternoon, which means that the Budapest weekend will most likely place in dry conditions at the Hungaroring circuit:
