A near-15km version of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit existed as early as 1921, weaving through the hills and forests of the Ardennes before it was redeveloped in 1979. While it dramatically cut the length of a lap down to just over 7km, it still remains the longest and one of the most challenging circuits on the Formula One calendar.
2021 Belgian Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Info Spa Francorchamps):
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, especially taking into consideration the fact that Stavelot weather forecast is always unpredictable and this year will not be an exception.
Conditions appear uncertain ahead of the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix weekend: light rain is expected especially for Friday afternoon, which could affect the free practice session. Wind will be generally light, while the temperature will be below normal, an important aspect for the teams to take into consideration when evaluating tyre wear. Some light rain is also expected for Sunday. There is a chance that the rain will miss the track and go east towards Germany. Nevertheless, the risk of rain remains very high with temperatures and wind conditions expected to be similar to Saturday’s weather.
