Formula 1 heads to Istanbul Park in Turkey, a circuit beautifully crafted and adored by drivers and fans alike.

Istanbul Park created some memorable moments over short stay on the F1 Calendar from 2005-2011 including Felipes Massas maiden victory in 2006 and Red Bulls capitulation in 2010. This drivers favourite ribbon of tarmac will be warmly welcomed back by Formula 1 after a nine year absence.

From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, especilly given the fact that this time weather conditions in Istanbul look uncertain, at least for Sunday afternoon. The temperature for race day is expected to be around 15-16 degrees, while according to the latest forecast, there is some chance of rain for Sunday, as a couple of showers will be around the track. The free practice sesions on Friday and qualifying on Saturday will most likely place in dry conditions.
