Fresh from consecutive races at the Red Bull Ring, Formula 1 moves on to the Hungaroring for the Hungarian Grand Prix on 17-19 July. No fans will be present at the race, as was the case in Austria, while strict lockdown restrictions are imposed for all UK and non-EU F1 personnel attending the Hungarian GP – who could face imprisonment or a €15,000 fine if they break the rules.
2020 Hungarian Grand Prix weather forecast (Weather Info Budapest):
From the Formula 1 teams’ point of view, different weather conditions can result in very different races, and Formula 1 teams adapt their strategy accordingly, for example using different tyres in wet conditions, and taking account of cross winds which can cause stability problems at high speeds. It is always well worth checking the weather before any grand prix as it can often throw a curve ball into the mix, especilly given the fact that this time weather conditions in Budapest look uncertain, at least for Friday and Saturday. The temperature for race day is expected to be around 25-26 degrees, while according to the latest forecast, there is a low chance of rain for Sunday, but the free practice sesions on Friday and qualifying on Saturday may take place in wet conditions, as a couple of showers and a thunderstorm will be around the track.
