Ferrari has unveiled the SF-26, the car with which it will compete in the 2026 Formula 1 season, and amid the excitement of the day, Lewis Hamilton delivered a special greeting.
January 23 marks a symbolic date for both Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton. On the same day, the Maranello-based team officially presented the SF-26 before heading straight out on track for its first kilometres at the team’s home circuit. The British driver also took the opportunity to offer a special greeting in Italian.
The car presentation took place in digital form through the team’s social media channels, but attention quickly shifted to the Fiorano Circuit, where Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc completed a total of 15 km during the filming day. This allowed the fans in attendance to get a first taste of the new Ferrari SF-26.
Even before the engines were fired up, however, the seven-time world champion captured the spotlight with a simple but highly meaningful gesture. From the house located within the circuit perimeter, where he stays during activities at Fiorano, the British driver delivered a special greeting.
Hamilton’s greeting from Fiorano
“Good morning, my neighbours,” Lewis Hamilton said in Italian. Just a few words, but enough to demonstrate his involvement, respect, and desire to integrate into the Italian environment.
This detail is far from marginal, especially at a stage when Lewis Hamilton is called upon to build new relationships, new habits, and a new sporting identity after a first year in red that was clearly disappointing. It remains to be seen whether the SF-26 will allow him to bounce back and relaunch his ambitions.
