The 2009 Belgian Grand Prix was held on 30 August 2009 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps near the town of Spa, Belgium. It was the 12th race of the 2009 Formula One season.
The event was won by 2007 Formula 1 world champion Kimi Räikkönen for Scuderia Ferrari, after the Finnish driver started from sixth on the grid. It was Kimi’s first Grand Prix victory since the 2008 Spanish Grand Prix and the Maranello team’s only win of the 2009 Formula 1 season. This was the last race for Luca Badoer, who replaced Felipe Massa at Ferrari after the Brazilian driver suffered a horrific accident at the Hungarian Grand Prix that year.
