The 1988 Italian Grand Prix was a held on 11 September 1988 at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, Monza. It was the twelfth race of the 1988 Formula 1 season and it is often remembered for the 1–2 finish for Ferrari in front of the amazing Tifosi fans. It also was the only race of the 1988 championship that McLaren-Honda did not manage to win.
For the Maranello team this was the first Italian Grand Prix since the death of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari.
