When Haas’s upgraded 2022 Formula 1 car was revealed, it triggered a game of ‘spot the difference’ in comparison to the Ferrari F1-75. Given the fact that Haas made its first appearance in Formula 1 in 2016, similarities between its cars and those of Ferrari have been a major talking point.
The upgraded Haas makes it the only team other than Ferrari to adopt the distinctive scallop-shaped top surface of the sidepods, so to the naked eye the resemblance is obvious. But with the way Haas does things through its technical partnership with Ferrari that supplies components and use of the Maranello windtunnel, the car is unquestionably legal, as explained by The Race in this video:
