Mercedes may have won the opening five rounds of the 2019 Formula 1, but each of its triumphs have come at different types of track.

By removing the circuit variety and simply expressing the pace of each F1 team as a percentage from the fastest laps each set at each race, the true competitive spread of the field can clearly be seen – this data arrangement is known as ‘supertimes’.

In this video, Motorsport Network’s Julia Piquet and Motorsport.com Global editor-in-chief Charles Bradley discuss the current competitive order at the head of the grid after the Spanish Grand Prix and analyse the intense scrap in the midfield.
