A little background for the reason people of Sarajevo did an amazing mural dedicated to Scuderia Ferrari and Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher. It is located in part of the city called Airport Settlement.
In the last year of Bosnian civil war, Michael Schumacher visited Sarajevo in order to help the citizens and mostly kids with supplies and other resources he could offer.
Michael really cared for the people here, and came back several times after the war was over with humanitarian help. He held a soccer game and visited several hospitals where he paid for surgeries and just hang around with kids to cheer them up in the times of need.
At this moment, there is also a petition to have one of the streets leading to Sarajevo International Airport renamed to “Michael Schumacher ‘s street”.
People that painted the mural said there are still some final touches to be done.
