Video: near-tragedy before start of last Sunday’s USA GP at Circuit of the Americas. Tragedy almost happened before the United States Grand Prix.

Last Sunday, Formula 1 held the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. With only a few minutes left before the race began, and preparations for the execution of the host country’s national anthem were underway, a malfunction in the pyrotechnic effects jeopardized the event.

As can be seen in the following video, while the Stars and Stripes flag waved in the Texas sky, the fireworks installed on the roof of the pit lane, which were supposed to be triggered only at the end of the race, accidentally went off while the helicopter used for FOM’s television filming was in that area. This incident put the pilot’s and the video operator’s lives at risk, as well as those of all the fans and personnel present at the circuit.
