
The 2000 Brazilian Grand Prix, held on 26 March at the iconic Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo, marked the second round of the 2000 Formula One World Championship. The 71-lap race drew an enthusiastic crowd of 72,000 spectators, eager to see the battle at one of F1’s most challenging circuits.
Starting from third on the grid, Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher delivered a commanding performance to take victory, securing his second consecutive win of the season and the 37th triumph of his illustrious career. Giancarlo Fisichella impressed in the Benetton, finishing second and climbing from fifth to second in the World Drivers’ Championship standings. Jordan’s Heinz-Harald Frentzen completed the podium in third.
Schumacher’s teammate, Rubens Barrichello, unfortunately did not finish the race, leaving Michael Schumacher to extend his championship lead by 12 points. The Brazilian Grand Prix once again showcased Ferrari’s pace, strategy, and Schumacher’s mastery of Interlagos.
