The debut of the new Ferrari engine in Belgium anticipated the developments of date freezing from 2023 to 2025. From today, it is no longer possible to revise anything on the power unit side (except for reliability reasons) and the Maranello squad took to Spa Francorchamps the maximum of its engine and hybrid technologies.
The increase of the bio-fuel percentage has been considered in this 066/7 version, forcefully impacting on the combustion quality and above all on the temperature of the pistons. The thermal balance of the next F1 engines will be more and more dependent on the chemical features of the oil produced in function of the ethanol percentage increase imposed by the FIA for the next three seasons, as explained by ChronoGP:
