While Max Verstappen sat out most of second practice at Imola while his Red Bull team repaired a broken drive-shaft, Mercedes and Ferrari stole the headlines. The two Merc drivers were one-two on the short runs; and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was quickest on the long runs – just before he hit the wall and brought practice to a close.
