With the 2023 Formula One pre-season testing session scheduled to take place at the Bahrain International Circuit on February 23, Scuderia Ferrari, just like the rest of the nine F1 teams, is working frantically on its challenger in view of the next campaign. All share the same clear goal, which is to make the car as quick as possible, but as this is the second year of Formula 1’s new ground effect regulations everyone has a slightly different set of priorities.

As a result, based on the strengths and weaknesses demonstrated in the 2022 Formula One season, what are those objectives, the areas where the biggest gains can be made to allow each team to do better than they did last year?
