Ferrari conducts pit stop with Charles Leclerc on day two of Bahrain testing
During the second day of pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit, Ferrari performed a scheduled pit stop with Charles Leclerc behind the wheel of the SF-26. The session offered a rare glimpse into the team’s pit operations, including a quick air refill procedure that was needed after a minor system leak. Despite the potential small issue, the Maranello team decided to continue running rather than interrupt the testing program.
The pit stop allowed engineers to check key systems and monitor how the car responded under real track conditions. While such procedures are standard during testing, this particular stop highlighted Ferrari’s focus on maintaining reliability and gathering consistent data even when minor technical concerns arise.
Charles Leclerc’s session combined several types of runs, from low-fuel simulations to longer stints aimed at evaluating tire degradation and energy management. The team also used this time to study the airflow and aerodynamic balance of the SF-26, making small adjustments to maximize performance while monitoring temperatures and pressures throughout the car.
