With 45 minutes remaining in FP1 at the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc had just set the fastest time when disaster struck. The Ferrari driver crashed hard at the second chicane, abruptly ending his session.
Charles Leclerc immediately apologized to his team as he climbed out of the car, visibly frustrated by the incident.
Sky Sports F1 analyst Karun Chandhok explained what happened: “He completely locked up and hit the barrier on the left. He carried way too much speed, snatched the front, and then you’re just a passenger. It’s a horrible feeling. You see the wall and there’s nothing you can do.”
This crash marks a tough moment for Charles Leclerc, who had been showing strong pace before the mistake. The team will now have to work quickly to repair the car and get him back on track for the rest of the weekend.
The session is over for CL 😞#F1 #CanadianGP
