Fairy tales do come true, and Lando Norris’s did on the afternoon in Miami. It’s May 5, 2024, a day the Brit will remember forever: here’s his long-awaited Formula 1 victory! A win pursued and sometimes missed by mere details, often due to Red Bull’s superiority, and occasionally due to some mistakes at critical moments. Luck certainly played its part, but fortune compensated him today in the form of the Safety Car, deployed on lap 28 due to a crash between Kevin Magnussen and Logan Sargeant: the most opportune moment for Norris, who was then the only one who hadn’t yet changed his tires in the pits. The #4, already the fastest on track in the first part of the race (but relegated to fifth place due to qualifying), puts a muzzle on Max Verstappen at the restart and from that moment on, flies towards his dream. He becomes the 114th driver in history to win a Grand Prix in Formula 1.
