At the age of 23, Marta García achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first-ever pole-sitter and race winner in the cF1 Academy in Austria. Six months later, she secured the championship title as the inaugural F1 Academy champion with a lights-to-flag victory at the Circuit of the Americas, marking the series’ first race outside of Europe.
García had earned two extra points for securing pole position on Friday, extending her lead over second-placed Léna Bühler to a 50-point margin before the first race of the weekend. Any podium finish would have guaranteed the Spaniard the championship title, as well as a fourth-place finish without the fastest lap for Sauber Academy-supported Bühler.
In the end, there was no need for complex calculations, as García led from the beginning to the end. Despite facing intense pressure from Abbi Pulling throughout the race, the Prema Racing driver was ultimately crowned the champion with a victory that encapsulated her remarkable season.
