There was a lot of scope for recovery for Scuderia Ferrari in the 2021 Formula 1 season, given how mediocre it had been in the previous championship due to its serious power shortfall and compromised aerodynamics. So third place in the constructors’ championship with five podiums and two pole positions can be seen as a decent year in the second campaign of the Maranello team’s recovery. But MUCH more is expected from Formula 1’s oldest giant. Whether that can be delivered in 2022 depends on the success of its major car and engine developments. If Ferrari’s bold claim about its 2022 Formula 1 car is anything to go by, the Italian side is pulling out all the stops in its bid to be a title challenger again.
