Video: 3D animation explaining Ferrari floor update and new engine in 2022 F1 French GP. Explaining Ferrari floor update and new engine.

Mattia Binotto: “We know where we need to work for the future, but the car we have is giving us satisfactions and now we are looking forward to Hungary”.

This statement now, sounds true more than ever because the Ferrari F1-75 has reached such a high level to be constantly better than the Red Bull RB18 both in qualifying and in race pace. This is due to a very efficient long term development program from which the Maranello team is introducing new aero solutions to anticipate the limitations imposed by the FIA starting from next August.

The inlet boxes become the main working area to compensate the downforce loss induced by the requirement to raise the car body floor. In order to reduce the infiltrations new deflector increase the air pumping outwards enhancing the whirls in defence of the ground effect. If on the aero side has been made a step forward, the Maranello squad focussed also on the engine, in order to attack in the second part of the championship.

The new engine used by Carlos Sainz is the result of the frantic development work of the 066/7 that shows to have even more wide improving margins.
The aim are the power increase consolidation and a bigger reliability compared to the old version.
