Italian platform Automoto.it reports the latest news and updates regarding Scuderia Ferrari’s plans and activities ahead of the official presentation of the 2019 Formula 1 car, which will take place on February 15 (Ferrari have only confirmed their plans recently):
– Sebastian Vettel’s team (excluding the engine engineers) have been assigned to Charles Leclerc for the 2019 Formula One season, while the people who worked with Kimi Raikkonen last year will now be working with Sebastian Vettel. For the moment it is still unknown who will become Vettel’s chief mechanic because his previous chief mechanic resigned tu pursue a new professional adventure.
– Mercedes has done that in the past too. In this way Charles Leclerc will have the opportunity to work with a staff of mechanics and technicians who are used to working with a 4-time world champion and therefore positive to accelerate team placement.
– Automoto also reports details of the new Ferrari car. During the crash test, Jo Bauer (FIA) was there, because for the first time Ferrari used materials other than the usual carbon. In fact the details were printed in 3D using something new for Formula 1. This is a big step forward, a technical revolution that is invisible in Ferrari’s work but very important. It could mean that during a GP weekend, if it shows that a piece needs some modifications or they have to make it new, it could even be created directly on the track!
