United States GP: third-to-last Sprint weekend of the 2025 season
After wrapping up the night race on the streets of Singapore, Formula 1 heads across the ocean to North America. The United States Grand Prix at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas hosts Round 19 of the 2025 World Championship. With the Constructors’ title already sealed in Marina Bay, attention now turns to the fight for the Drivers’ Championship. McLaren’s two drivers remain ahead in the title race, but Max Verstappen is closing in fast and hopes to reignite his challenge on American soil.
The Austin weekend marks the fourth Sprint event of the six scheduled for this season. After Texas, only two Sprint weekends will remain — the Qatar Grand Prix in Losail and the Brazilian Grand Prix in São Paulo.
Hot weather warning for Austin Grand Prix weekend
The FIA has issued a Heat Hazard warning for the 2025 United States Grand Prix weekend in Austin. No rain is expected, and temperatures during both the Sprint and Sunday’s main race are forecast to exceed 31°C.
According to FIA regulations, the declaration of a Heat Hazard triggers a series of safety protocols designed to protect drivers, marshals, and team personnel. These include continuous monitoring of environmental conditions, enhanced hydration systems, and the option for FIA medical staff to request additional health checks throughout the weekend.
