Unexpected scenes in Miami as drivers ride LEGO cars in pre-race parade – VIDEO. Formula 1 drivers stunned fans at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix.

The 2025 Miami Grand Prix marked a historic first for Formula 1 in collaboration with LEGO. During the traditional pre-race drivers’ parade, the twenty F1 drivers replaced the classic truck with fully functional LEGO single-seaters built at nearly life-size scale.

Each team showcased a personalized vehicle, created in the official colors and liveries of the current season. These incredible creations, inspired by the LEGO F1 Speed Champions line, are the result of a multi-year partnership between Formula 1 and the LEGO Group, aimed at merging sport and creativity to engage an ever-broader and younger audience.

Record-breaking numbers: 400,000 pieces and 1,000 kg for each LEGO single-seater
The models were built at the LEGO facility in Kladno, Czech Republic, by a team of 26 designers, engineers, and builders, who spent over 22,000 hours bringing these extraordinary replicas to life. Each car measures nearly the same as a real F1 car, weighs about 1,000 kg, and is made up of nearly 400,000 bricks. They are even equipped with official Pirelli tires and can reach speeds of 20 km/h.

“It was amazing to witness another first for our sport,” commented Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1. “These LEGO creations show our ability to push boundaries and engage fans in increasingly innovative ways.”

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, added: “The collaboration with Formula 1 and the 10 teams has been incredible. The drivable LEGO models excite both kids and adults and prove that with imagination and bricks, anything is possible.”

After the Miami events conclude, the 10 LEGO big builds will now begin a world tour that will take them to upcoming GPs on the calendar.
