Officially, the 2021 Formula 1 calendar includes 23 Grands Prix with dates and tracks already knwon for some time, but in fact it is a formal program that refers to the existing contracts agreed between Liberty Media and the circuits.
Another thing will be to find out the real path of the 2021 Formula 1 season, which will have to deal with a constantly evolving context where the only certainties at the moment are Europe and the Middle East.
According to rumors leaked in the last few hours, the trip to Montreal, scheduled for June 13, the weekend following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, is highly at risk. The confirmation also comes from contacts that have been made in recent days between Liberty Media and the Istanbul circuit, to evaluate the possible replacement of the Canadian Grand Prix on the same date.
The Turkish Grand Prix, which was back on the calendar in 2020, would also be an excellent destination for logistical reasons, as Formula 1 would arrive in Istanbul directly from Baku, after the race on 6 June.
If the Turkish leg is confirmed, Formula 1 will start a long European tour from Imola which, according to the current calendar, will end on 12 September with the Italian Grand Prix, guaranteeing a period of almost six months to monitor the situation in the nations that should host the final nine GPs, races which should take place in Asia, the Americas and the more reassuring Middle East.
