Let’s take a look at the top speed data and analysis based on data collected from the first free practice session for the 2023 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo:
The Red Bull reached just the third best top speed, as the Drag Reduction System (DRS) is much less impactful on the streets of Monte Carlo.
The top speed can be reached either in the main straight (thanks to the DRS) or at the end of the tunnel (there is no DRS in that track area, but the circuit slope helps)
Just 280km/h for McLaren.
The data from the first free practice session for the 2023 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix shows that we are currently 2.0s off from last year’s pole position lap time: this means that track evolution will be massive in Monaco due to the low track grip.
Positive signs for Scuderia Ferrari from FP1: the Maranello team might have a chance this weekend in case they ace the SF-23 setup
Aston Martin too if they can keep their tires in the right window
