As soon as the rumors became persistent, Ferrari unofficially confirmed that the team and management have full confidence in Frédéric Vasseur. Does the Horner story exist purely in people’s imagination? It’s impossible to say for certain, but if the rumors are circulating, there may be reasons behind them. The 2026 season will be crucial for the Scuderia. Getting the car wrong at the start of the regulation change would mean chasing rivals again—a scenario Charles Leclerc cannot afford. After celebrating his 28th birthday, the driver must carefully consider his future. He has already reaffirmed that Ferrari is his passion, clarifying also the words of his manager, Nicholas Todt.
Leclerc: “There are so many fake news”
“It’s a difficult moment because there are so many unfounded rumors about the team. It’s a bad situation. There’s a lot of talk about the team, and I don’t know where it comes from,” Charles Leclerc said during an interview with Italian journalist Mara Sangiorgio for Sky Sport F1. When asked if he was referring specifically to the Christian Horner rumors, he added: “I mean in general! There are so many fake news stories, based on nothing. This is the worst thing, and I hope we can forget all of this with a good weekend for the team. I don’t go on social media, and then people ask me things I don’t understand! I don’t know where it comes from.” – the Monegasque driver pointed out ahead of the United States Grand Prix weekend at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas.
Charles Leclerc also reassured fans about any potential transfer. “What does my manager say about 2026? My opinion is that I love the team. I want to win with Ferrari. And no matter how much noise surrounds us, we don’t pay attention. It’s not pleasant to read all this, but I’m looking forward to 2026.”
For now, this is the truth, but in Formula 1, everything can change. Charles Leclerc is aware that if Ferrari does not return to competitiveness, his hopes of winning a World Championship will grow more distant. This season is effectively over, and the focus now is on preparing for the next one.
