Hamilton’s emotional message on social media
On Instagram, Lewis Hamilton shared another heartfelt post along with several photos of Roscoe. The seven-time Formula 1 world champion wrote: “After four days on life support, fighting with all his strength, I had to make the hardest decision of my life and say goodbye to Roscoe. He never stopped fighting, right until the end. I feel so grateful and honored to have shared my life with such a beautiful soul, an angel and a true friend. Bringing Roscoe into my life was the best decision I ever made, and I will forever hold on to the memories we created together.”
Lewis Hamilton continued by reflecting on the pain of this loss: “Although I lost Coco, I had never faced the decision of putting a dog to sleep before, even if I know that my mother and many of my closest friends have been through it. It is one of the most painful experiences, and I feel such a deep bond with anyone who has lived through the loss of a beloved pet. Even though it has been so hard, having him was one of the most beautiful parts of life—loving so deeply and being loved in return. Thank you all for the affection and support you have shown Roscoe over the years. It has been so special to witness and feel. He passed away on Sunday evening, September 28, in my arms.”
