The most watched teams in the Premier League. The most watched teams in the Premier League.

The Premier League has established itself as one of the most watched domestic leagues in the world, with its reach spanning all four corners of the globe.

Looking to capitalise on the global reach from which the Premier League benefits, it is becoming more common for teams throughout the Premier League to spend their pre-seasons in countries such as the USA, Australia and Asia. Despite these locations being far from where Premier League sides are based, the support these teams receive is fanatical and loyal.

What makes the Premier League so enthralling is that realistically all six teams have a genuine chance of winning the league. Already all six sides find themselves towards the top of the table, making each match so important.

The Premier League is broadcast all over the world and can be accessed via football streaming in the UK.

1. Manchester United

Despite not winning the Premier League since 2012-2013, Manchester United can still lay claim to being the biggest football team in the UK and arguably the most watched.

For a start, Old Trafford is still the biggest stadium in the league, attracting 73,000 for every home game. Despite a whole host of new stadiums, they still hold the best average by 10,000 fans and plan to expand the stadium further.

No football club in the world sells more shirts than United and this is coupled with the fact that no club has as many social media followers. United has also been ranked the most valuable Premier League side by Forbes. Set to be worth approx $4.6 billion.

2. Chelsea

Second on our most watched list is Chelsea. It shows how dominant Chelsea have been since Roman Abramovich bought the club that they have risen this high.

The most successful club in London, Chelsea’s iconic blue shirts and myriad of famous players have attracted fanatical support from all over the world.

In the twenty year Roman Abramovich era, Chelsea won two Champions League and five Premier League titles and it seems that their success has led them to attract almost 50,000,000 social media fans. Chelsea sit third when it comes to Premier League shirt sales, but only ninth when it comes to average fan attendance.

With a new stadium in the pipeline, the future of Chelsea looks bright – and this is indicated by the fact that Chelsea is the fourth most valuable Premier League team according to Forbes.

3. Liverpool

When it comes to European and domestic success, there is no finer team in all of the Premier League than Liverpool. Liverpool have long been regarded as one of the most popular teams in the UK and their resurgence under Jurgen Klopp will have no doubt bolstered their international standing.

Anfield stands as one of the most iconic stadiums and it’s average capacity of 53,000 fans see’s the Reds rank 6th in average Premier League attendance.

When it comes to shirt sales, they are the most popular Premier League team and have amassed over 39,000,000 followers on social media.

Off the field, Liverpool has soared in value with Forbes valuing the men from Anfield at $4.45 billion.

4. Manchester City

Since being bought by their Abu Dhabi owners, Manchester City has become one of the biggest clubs in the world. Although they are yet to taste glory on the continent, they are Premier League juggernauts and have won the Premier League title in four of the last five seasons.

Their meteoric rise in the English game has seen the Citizens sneak into the top ten for the most shirts sold in the world. They are also highly valuable, coming in as the third most valuable Premier League team behind only Manchester United and Liverpool at $4.25 billion.

They are certainly no slouches when it comes to social media followers with the current Premier League champions attracting 41,000,000 social media followers.

5. Arsenal

Despite it being almost twenty years since Arsenal last won the Premier League, there can be no doubt that they are still one of the best-supported clubs in the world.

According to an article by Bleacher Report, only Manchester United have more fans than the Gunners. This is backed up by the fact that the side from the ref half of North London have amassed 38,000,000 million fans on social media.

Domestically they are loved and rank in 4th when it comes to average attendance pulling in a home crowd of 60,000.

6. Tottenham

A team looking to grow both on and off the pitch is Tottenham. Spurs are the least successful club out of the entire list of clubs mentioned in this article but they hope to change this fast. will be hoping to change this and change it fast.

A rising force off the pitch, Spurs have built the best stadium in the world that not only hosts Premier League football, but also the NFL and concerts.

Due to COVID, Spurs are yet to complete a full season inside their new home, but when they do, expect them to soar.

Spurs do rank third in average attendance but sit just outside the top ten when it comes to shirt sales and outside the top 50 when it comes to value. Spurs have accrued 24,000,000 social media followers, making them the sixth best supported Premier League club.
