The victory achieved by Ferrari number 51 at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit rightfully enters the list of feats that will remain in history. It is not just a sporting success—it is Ferrari’s first overall victory at Imola, on the track that more than any other speaks the language of homegrown emotion.
Flawless performance
Strategy, speed, and steady nerves—the Ferrari 499P driven by Calado–Pier Guidi–Giovinazzi crossed the finish line first on a Sunday to remember. After taking Hyperpole and in front of a crowd worthy of great occasions—more than 65,000 in attendance—the celebration was one that only Ferrari red can ignite.
A hard-fought race until the end, with the number 51 managing to fend off the comeback from rivals Toyota and Porsche, thanks also to a champion-level handling of pressure. The roar and fireworks from the main grandstand as the checkered flag waved marked not just a win but a symbolic moment: Ferrari wins again at Imola, where glory had always eluded them—until now.
Ferrari unstoppable, not just in Imola
For the Maranello team, the win at Imola confirms their strength and speed. A victory that follows a full podium sweep in the Qatar round and last year’s winning return at Le Mans. To do it at Imola, on the track that bears the Ferrari family name, is something unique—it’s identity, legacy, and pure passion.
The number of overall victories by the 499P in the FIA WEC rises to five. Ferrari becomes the fifth manufacturer to have won at least five races in the World Endurance Championship. With today’s result, Pier Guidi, Calado, and Giovinazzi bring the Prancing Horse back to overall victory in a race on Italian soil after 52 years: the last time was in 1973 when Brian Redman and Jacky Ickx triumphed at the 1000 Kilometers of Monza with the Ferrari 312 PB. For the second time in a row, the 499Ps take pole position, fastest lap, and victory.
The Red returns to roar where it had never won before. And now, the Endurance season gets hotter than ever.
