The Witcher 3 is one of the industry’s most popular and successful games. The project came out in 2015, but it still has a huge fan base, which is only growing with time. The third installment of “The Witcher” was beloved by gamers because of its lively characters, big open world, and exciting story. Of course, Heralt has fans because the hero turned out to be highly charismatic.
But even the fans of The Witcher 3 want to diversify their gaming life and play something else. And what to do if you’re going to play the third “The Witcher” and do not let go? First, look for analogs similar to the CD Projekt RED project. In this selection, we will tell you about several games sure to please every fan of “The Witcher 3”. You may also like some of the best betting apps in India because some gambling games also have the theme of the Witcher.
Here you will see such games as:
- Assassin’s Creed;
- ELEX;
- The Fallout.

Assassin’s Creed Origins
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has often been compared to The Witcher lately. It is especially true of the latest installments: Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla – they’ve hit RPG systems and moved away from their roots.
The first game, with the release of which went to the experiment, was Origins. The action takes place in ancient Egypt, and the players will have to take on the role of Medjay Bayek. As in The Witcher 3, Origins has a big open world filled with different activities, many characters, quests, and various RPG elements. For example, Origins has a level system of enemies, a leveling system divided into several branches of specializations, and much more. Origins were received very warmly, and for the similar elements to “The Witcher 3,” the game was not particularly criticized, which allowed it to become one of the best Assassin’s Creed games.
Dragon Age: Inquisition
This part of the Dragon Age franchise is talked about exclusively negatively. The game was scolded for many things, from the gameplay to the terrible technical state. However, the story was able to hook many players. It is the story and its depth that makes the Inquisition similar to the third, The Witcher. And yet it is essential to remember that Inquisition is a sophisticated RPG, just like The Witcher, we all know. Also, the third part of Dragon Age has a great dialogue system, where almost any answer will have consequences. This same element makes Inquisition a non-linear game where everyone plays the way they want to.
A fourth Dragon Age game is already in development. Perhaps in the future, it will be compared to The Witcher 3 because the franchises have a very similar atmosphere. One thing is sure: the fans of The Witcher 3 will be happy with the story and the setting, which the authors of the Inquisition developed.
ELEX
Games from Piranha Bytes studio are often compared to The Witcher. The team’s projects have a lot in common with the project CD Projekt RED, but in our selection got two games from the studio, and one of them – was ELEX. In it, the hero finds himself on a post-apocalyptic planet where people fight for the resource ELEX. The main story revolves around it, which has a lot of exciting and essential moments.
Like in The Witcher, in ELEX, you need to explore the open world, meet different characters, have conversations with them, fight, do crafting, and more. However, unlike the medieval style of The Witcher, ELEX offers a glimpse into the future with powerful cannons, the ability to fly with technology, and more. Also released earlier this year was ELEX 2, which successfully developed the ideas of the first installment, but critics received the project with a mixed reception.
Vampyr
In 2018, studio Dontnod Entertainment released the game Vampyr. It immediately seemed interesting not only to “The Witcher” fans but also to other gamers. The project was attracted by its atmosphere and style. The game’s protagonist is an English doctor who has become a living vampire. The hero has to determine his way of life and understand what he wants: to kill or to fight his thirst for blood.
Vampyr has a very unusual style and exciting story, though, of course, in the background of which adventures Vampyr seems not so attractive. It was criticized for its poor implementation of RPG elements, lack of variability, and more. Despite this, many fans have noted that the combat system in Vampyr they like much more than the system of the third The Witcher. Also, the game was praised for its pleasing graphics, reminiscent of the Arkane games, such as Dishonored and Death Loop.
Risen
In our selection, this is the second game from the Piranha Bytes studio. The first part was released in 2009 and got quite good reviews. Then there was the release of Risen 2 about pirates and Risen 3, which many called a copy of Gothika 3.
Like The Witcher 3, Risen has its universe with its laws, monsters, magic, and other elements. However, risen was scolded for one-type quests, boring faction reputation boosting, and much more. As a result, the background of The Witcher Risen looks weak, but it managed to implement the variability perfectly.
The games in the series also have interesting quests that lead to many alternate paths and forks. It may seem inappropriate to compare The Witcher and Risen, and the latter has fewer advantages, but the developers of Risen managed to make a unique universe with its chips.
Fallout 3 and Fallout 4
The Fallout franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Agree; it’s a beautiful date to remember the series and put it in our selection. While the first two parts of Fallout cannot be called similar to The Witcher, Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 handle the similarities perfectly. Both games are in a post-apocalyptic world filled with bandits, raiders, and other creatures. As a survivor, you must explore the world, find answers to all your questions and find your destination.
The Fallout developers worked out their universe to the last detail. But this franchise is similar to “The Witcher 3”. As in the CD Projekt RED project, Fallout has a system of training, ramified dialogue, decision-making, and consequences. However, if “The Witcher” fascinates with its characters and powerful storyline, Fallout is addictive thanks to the atmosphere and gameplay that constantly throws up something new to players.

Red Dead Redemption 2
This Rockstar Games project was often included in different sets of the most beautiful open-world games. However, it is at our top because Red Dead Redemption 2 has much in common with the third, The Witcher. The game is about the end of the criminal times in America, and it covers the period when the law enforcers took over and the criminal groups had nothing to hide.
Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018, but the game still looks fantastic. It was ahead of The Witcher in terms of graphics, but in everything else, the projects are about on the same level. Rockstar, like CD Projekt, has invested in developing the game world, characters, dialogues, quests, and atmosphere. The only difference is that in Red Dead Redemption 2, you can shoot with guns and feel like a real cowboy.
