The Best Ferrari F1 Drivers

Free Racing Formula 1 photo and picture

As a manufacturer that has forged paths of F1 history, Ferrari today stands as an enduring symbol of success and excellence. It has a 74-year history of extraordinary drivers, fantastic vehicles, and a record number of race wins, hereby topping all other major Formula 1 statistics so far. Join us in this brief reminder of the greatest drivers who had the honor and an opportunity to shape the history and future of Ferrari in F1.

The One and Only, Michael Schumacher

If you ask people about their first association with Formula 1, you may expect that most of them, no matter their age, will mention Michael Schumacher and the passionate red color of Ferrari cars. And this comes as no surprise, as he truly is one of the key symbols of Ferrari’s success – he has won five consecutive Drivers’ titles at the beginning of 2000 and 72 Grand Prix wins. Much like gamechampions, where you can see the finest selection of sportsbooks, Schumacher had the finest selection of talents, skills, work ethics, and speed needed to make him the best of all time. Today he remains the most successful champion of F1 and one of the best athletes of all time.

The Brief Era of Juan Manuel Fangio

Known as “El Maestro”, and “Original Gangster” this Argentinian is seen as the best driver in Formula 1 history, according to the Daily Mail. He drove for Ferrari only for a short period, in 1956, but his appearance was more than fruitful. Namely, his exceptional skills and driving strengths secured him the title of World Drivers’ Champion and the World Constructors’ Title for Ferrari, which easily marked the beginning of Ferrari’s huge success in F1. Aside from his driving talents, he was well-known as one of the few drivers who perfectly understood the mechanics of cars.

Niki Lauda, A Dominant Force of the 1970s

One of the greatest team players in a “one-man sport,” Niki Lauda dominantly shaped Ferrari’s history. He drove for Ferrari from 1974 to 1977 and won two titles (in 1975 and 1977) and 15 other victories. His experience, passion, resilience, and rationality secured Ferrari victories even in those races where it seemed impossible. Today, aside from being recognized as one of the best drivers of all time, his inspiring story is deeply carved in F1 history, making him one of the most devoted sportsmen ever. His comeback to F1, after a horrific accident that occurred during one of his races, inspired numerous movies, books, and movements across the globe.

Conclusion

Many will argue which of the drivers is the best and will use different criteria to make a final selection – number of titles, driving skills, success rate, longevity, and many others. However, one thing cannot be disputed: Ferrari without a doubt allowed us to enjoy the skills and exquisite talents of some of the greatest legends of the track. No matter if you are a fan of Schumacher, Lauda, Fangio, Alonso, Raikkonen, or someone else, we can all agree that Ferrari has produced a dozen extremely talented and dedicated drivers who have pursued greatness and shaped the history of racing.
