This is the post from the Thai government: “The Prime Minister met with Stefano Domenicali during the Monaco GP to discuss a race in Thailand. The Premier highlighted the 600 million global viewers of F1 and the potential economic boost deriving from tourism and infrastructure investment.”
A proposal and a feasibility study will be presented to the government for approval next week, said MP Jirayu Houngsub, according to the Ansa agency.
On Friday, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra described the meeting with F1 boss Stefano Domenicali on the sidelines of the Monaco GP as “a big step forward.” If the race is organized, it is expected to be held on a street circuit set up in the capital, potentially becoming another night race.
