In Monaco, the low-grip tarmac and the few fast corners produce lower lateral acceleration than usual: not even 5g yet
The Aston Martin was the benchmark for cornering, then Red Bull and Ferrari, based on the data collected from Friday’s running on the streets of Monte Carlo.
The Ferrari SF-23 car compensated through their excellent traction
The Haas was quick in a straight line as can be seen in the graph above: it’s already just 5km/h off the top speed the SF-90 rocket did here!
McLaren seems to have solved their top speed problem: they were probably down on power yesterday.
Red Bull, Scdueria Ferrari and Mercedes were matched, while Aston Martin just 1km/h behind
Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc seemed very close in the second free practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix:
Charles Leclerc gained time in Sainte Devote (turn 1) and in the first strong braking point after the following uphill slope, while the Dutchman gained about 0.4 in the tightest corners of the track.
It is worth pointing out that drivers use the I gear and never the VIII: only possible in Monaco!
